Join us in the Wind & Rye Kitchen for an afternoon dedicated to honing your pan pizza making craft.
Pan Style Pizza may have been a bit over looked in recent years with the trend of wood fire pizza places popping up everywhere, but this classic form of pie is making a come back and perfect for the home cook! Leah Scurto, award winning chef and member of the United States Pizza Team, will be back to teach the different styles of pan cooked pizza and her secrets to success! You will learn and TASTE the difference between Grandma, Sicilian and Detroit style pizzas. Beginning with the most important component: the dough. Leah will show you how to use a kitchen scale to get exact measurements and the best flours and yeasts and equipment needed to create the desired texture. Chef Leah will also include her tried and true Gluten Free pizza dough recipe. Next you’ll move on to the sauce and toppings. You will receive recipes and ideas for creative, seasonal toppings that will keep pizza night exciting and fresh all year round.
As always, Drinks and Dinner are included (pizza of course)
** Please note that while we will be covering a gluten free crust recipe, there will be an abundance of flour in the kitchen for this class and cross contamination can not be entirely prevented.
